Orthotic Clinic

An Orthotist is a health care professional who is concerned with the design, development, fitting and manufacture of orthoses (splints), which are devices that support or correct musculoskeletal deformities and/or abnormalities of the human body.  The Physiotherapists and Orthotist hold regular multi-disciplinary orthotic clinics at the Children’s Centre to assess, prescribe and fit orthoses.  Sometimes, specialist footwear may be required and they will advise parents on what is most appropriate for their child.
