Paediatric Consultants’ Clinics

Consultant Paediatricians are an integral part of the Children’s Centre team, and attend the weekly Child Development Team meetings where referrals into the Centre are discussed.

The paediatricians are based at Ystrad Mynach Hospital, but hold weekly clinics at the Children’s Centre.

During a clinic appointment, a paediatrician may disclose a child’s diagnosis to his family and then offer follow-up counselling sessions, when the family is welcome to ask questions about their child’s condition.

The paediatricians can co-ordinate a package of care for children after discussion with their families and will refer onto other services as necessary.
